Dr Nungari Mwangi
CALA Programme Lead, AGRA
Nungari is the Program Lead for AGRA’s Centre for African Leaders in Agriculture (CALA) which is part of AGRA’s Support to State Capability work. She leads CALA’s work across eight countries working closely with CALA’s partners including the African Management Institute and Policy LINK. She was previously a Strategy Officer handling the design of AGRA’s strategic initiatives including CALA and the Hub for Agriculture Policy Action (HAPA). Nungari has a decade of experience in development strategy, policy and research having worked with Dalberg Global Development Advisors in agriculture public sector advisory across Eastern Africa, and with a range of international humanitarian organizations working in food security. Nungari was awarded the Andrew E. Rice (Truman) Award for leadership and innovation by a young professional in international development by the Society for International Development (SID), Washington, DC. She has a B.A in Political Science from Brown University (USA) and an MPhil and PhD in International Development from the University of Cambridge (UK).
