Jonathan Said is the Vice President for Technical Expertise at AGRA, an African not-for-profit focused on agricultural, economic and food systems transformation in Africa. He specializes in supporting African governments to implement modern industrial policies to drive economic transformation and job creation on a national scale.
Jonathan used to be the Director of Sector Practices at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change where he oversaw the strengthening of the institute’s work in areas such as centre of government and delivery, agriculture and food, industrialization, energy and climate and human capital development. Jonathan used to be TBI’s Country Manager in Liberia. Jonathan also worked for Imani Development and the Government of Malawi in Malawi, and for the Government of Guyana as an ODI Fellow in Guyana as a private sector development economist. He started his career working for a business and economics consultancy in the United Kingdom. He read MSc Economics at the University of Warwick.
